小火車班次疏落。盤算過後我們決定從《菁桐站》順著路軌旁的道路慢慢散步到《平溪站》去。

沿途看到的主要是農田和民居,風光沒有特別但也寧靜舒適。「光天化日」之下當然也不會發現有放天燈的遊人了。

「慢」步十多分鐘便抵達《平溪老街》。相對《菁桐站》和後來的《十分站》,這兒顯得比較冷清。途中巧遇的一對港人旅客看來有點失望:
「都沒有東西買嘅……」

不過皇天不負有心人,他們沒多久便發現站前的店舖有美味便宜的冰棒出售。貪吃的大叔差點為了這冰棒而錯過每小時只有一班的小火車。雖然如此, 冰棒真的很美味,有機會再來的話一定要再吃
